Health Services

The Health Services Department at Kentucky Wesleyan College is dedicated to maintaining the health and safety of our campus community. A registered nurse is available to all students at no cost on a walk- in basis Monday through Friday from 9am - noon & 1pm - 3pm. We promote a healthy lifestyle by offering educational programming and providing preventative education. Other services include assessment, treatment of minor wound care, dispensing over the counter medications and supplies, vital sign and blood sugar screening, and referral to other health care professionals when appropriate. The only requirement is that the student Health Form must be on file and complete. Full time students, (except for on-line), will provide the campus nurse with proof of insurance by submitting a copy of their insurance card with the Health Form. Those without insurance must go to the American College Student Association, (ACSA.com), and become a member. From there, they must click on the United Health Care section and will be given a variety of policies and prices. Students may purchase for a semester or longer. Students will be responsible for choosing their plan and method of payment.

Health Services is located on the second floor of the Barnard Jones Administration Building in room #213.  Feel free to call 270-852-3288 for questions and concerns. All services provided in Health Services is confidential.

College Assistance Program (CAP)

Kentucky Wesleyan College provides counseling services to its full-time students through the CAP Program. The counseling service provided is aimed at helping students to maintain psychological and emotional wellness. Licensed clinical professional therapists provide confidential assessment, and counseling services to students desiring assistance with social adjustment, stress, anxiety, depression, relationship problems, drug/alcohol other addiction issues, and any other issues of concern. We have contracted with Ivory Howell, LPCC and Counseling Associates to make available to our full-time students the opportunity to utilize their counseling services at no cost for our students. The CAP Program allows for a student to see a counselor six times for any one issue. A student need only call either provider and identify themselves as a full-time student at KWC. When arriving for their appointment the student will need to present their student ID for verification. Should you miss a scheduled appointment or fail to call and reschedule your appointment you may be assessed a $25.00 fee to your student account. All information shared with our counselors is confidential.
