Mission
The mission of the Kentucky Wesleyan College KW1101 program is to provide service and assistance that will:

  1. Welcome and aid new students in their transition to KWC.
  2. Integrate new students into college life
  3. Introduce family members to College resources and support for their students
  4. Assure students and parents that they made the right choice by choosing KWC!

Job Description
Included in the minimum expectations and responsibilities for a KW1101 Student Leader are:

  1. Attendance and active participation in the KW1101 Student Leader Training Program
  2. Assistance with the implementation of KW1101 activities for summer and fall programs.
  3. Acquainting new students with campus services.
  4. Leading group discussions during KW1101 programs.
  5. Assistance with setup, check in, and all parts of KW1101 programs.
  6. Serve as a role model and representative of KWC.
  7. Additional responsibilities as assigned.

Qualifications
The minimum qualifications required of a KW1101 Student Leader include:

  1. Must be in good academic standing at the College.
  2. Lack of judicial offenses (contact Student Life with questions)
  3. Understand and believe in the mission of the KW1101 program.
  4. Be reliable, responsible, confident, flexible, willing to help, punctual, pay careful attention to detail, and
  5. effective at communicating.
  6. Available to attend all training sessions and KW1101 week activities.
  7. Possess a positive attitude, a passion for Kentucky Wesleyan College, and willingness to work hard with others to accomplish a common mission.

Required Dates:
  • Spring Training: To Be Determined
  • Free during KW1101 Week: Saturday, August 18 – Saturday, August 25

Terms of Employment and Compensation:
  • This is a paid position
  • Meals during KW1101 dates are provided
  • Must work ALL dates unless approved in advance by Director of Student Life
  • Timeliness, attention to detail, and maintaining a positive attitude is a must
  • Must wear required attire (this will be provided to you at no cost)
